Average Cost of Spray Foam

Let's start by saying that spray foam insulation is the best all around insulating material available.

Spray foam insulation is the best because it provides superior air-sealing capabilities, superior insulation value, and superior moisture resistance.

Spray foam insulation is also non-toxic and does not absorb moisture, making it a great choice for walls, floors, and ceilings.

The materials and equipment used to produce closed cell spray foam are very expensive.

Because of these qualities, it is usually the most costly solution of all insulating options.

the average price of closed cell spray foam job is $6,342

with most between $3,000 and $15,000.

Spray foam insulation is one of the most efficient and effective ways to insulate your home.

Not only does it create a barrier between the outside elements and the inside of your home, but it also helps to keep your energy costs down.

Spray foam insulation is a great choice for those looking to reduce their energy usage and save money.

Spray foam insulation is sprayed on in either liquid or foam form. It expands when applied and then hardens to create an airtight barrier.

This creates an insulation that helps to reduce air leakage and heat transfer. It also helps to keep conditioned air inside the home and prevent outside air from entering.

Spray foam insulation is also great for reducing noise pollution. It helps to reduce the amount of outside noise that enters the home, providing a quieter, more peaceful environment.

Spray Foam Insulation is about $1.50-$3.00 per board foot

In order to figure out what your spray foam project will cost, you need to understand the different climate zones and building codes for those zones.

As you can see from the map, our specific area of Central Pennsylvania is Zone 5.

And then from the zone key, you can see the R-value required by the area to be insulated.

Closed cell spray foam provides R-7 per inch of foam. So, you look at the building code R-value and divide by 7 to figure out the inches of spray foam needed to reach code.

Then you take (the square footage of the area that you are insulating) multiply by (the inches of spray foam needed to reach code) = the total board feet. Then you multiply the board feet by the price per board foot.

Example 1 - To insulate my 2x6 walls to reach building code I need 3" of spray foam(3" x R7/inch) = 21 Total R-value.

8' walls x 100' total length of walls = 800SF of wall area

800SF x 3" of foam(R-21) = 2,400BF

2,400BF x $2 per BF = $4,800

This will give you a ballpark figure but there are other factors that will effect the final cost of the spray foam insulation including accessibility, prep work needed, time to complete, among other factors.

We use only the best insulation materials. We believe in doing the job right the first time, at the right price. 100% Guaranteed satisfaction.
